This week we visit Syracuse University for our spotlight series, the current Men's Soccer National Champions in NCAA Division 1!

The University is based in Syracuse in the state of New York, located in the north-west of the state. In fact, the University is actually closer to Toronto than New York City! The private institution is one of the USA's top ranked Universities and is renowned for academic and sporting excellence, with notable alumni including NBA star Carmelo Anthony and the current President of the US, Joe Biden.
Established in 1870, it's main campus can found just a short walk from downtown Syracuse. The research university offers a variety of degrees in over 200 different majors and has a school population of nearly 22,000.

The University's Sports teams go by the name of the Orange and represent the school across a number of disciplines, including Ice Hockey, Basketball, and Lacrosse. However it's their Soccer teams that have had the most recent and noticeable success, with the Men's program having been crowned the 2022 Men's Soccer NCAA D1 National Champions.

The Orange's soccer teams compete at the SU Soccer stadium, a purpose built Soccer field that can seat over 1,000.
